About Us
A few miles west of Hamburg, Pennsylvania, this warm and caring Community Church is at a prime location. Not only is it surrounded by the finest of nature, it is less than 5 miles from both Blue Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Elementary and Blue Mountain Academy. Conceived on the campus of Blue Moutain Academy in the early 1980's, Hamburg Community has grown tremendously both spiritually and numerically since its inception.
Thanks to the Hamburg Church's close proximity to the schools, it is privileged to have a great deal of involvement with them. Another benefit is that our childrens programs are always full and jumping with excitement. With inspiring special music, an active church membership, and powerful sermons each week, our adults are strengthened and uplifted as well. No matter if you have been an Adventist all your life or you are a visitor with no religious background, you are invited to fellowship with us.

Seventh-day Adventists
The Seventh-day Adventist Church, commonly abbreviated “Adventist”, is a Christian denomination which is distinguished by our observance of Saturday, the seventh day of the week, as the Sabbath, and by our emphasis on the imminent second coming of Jesus Christ. We are the eighth largest international body of Christians. Our denomination grew out of the Millerite movement, a religious awakening that took place in the middle of the 19th century and was formally established as the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1863. Among our founders was Ellen G. White, whose extensive writings are still held in high regard by Adventists today.
Much of the theology of the Seventh-day Adventist Church corresponds to evangelical teachings such as the Trinity and the infallibility of Scripture. Distinctive teachings include the unconscious state of the dead and the doctrine of an investigative judgment. Our church is also known for its emphasis on diet and health, its holistic understanding of the person, its promotion of religious liberty, and its conservative principles and lifestyle.
The world church is governed by a General Conference, with smaller regions administered by divisions, union conferences and local conferences. We currently have a worldwide membership of over 17 million people, a missionary presence in over 200 countries and territories and are ethnically and culturally diverse. Our church operates numerous schools, hospitals and publishing houses throughout the world, as well as a prominent humanitarian aid organization known as the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA).

Our Beliefs
Seventh-day Adventists are one of the fastest growing protestant denominations. As Christians, we accept the Bible as our only creed and hold certain fundamential beliefs to be the teaching of the Holy Sctipures. These beliefs, as set forth here, constitute the church's understanding and expression of the teaching of Scripture. Revision of these statements may be expected at a General Conference session when the church is led by the Holy Spirit to a fuller understanding of Bible truth or finds better language in which to express the teachings of God's Holy Word.
